I purchased my new pump from FCPEuro - highly recommend them - it was "aftermarket" but was the same brand (VDO, a division of Continental) as the original, and was reasonably priced at a little over $200.

The fix for my car ended up being a OEM fuel pump manufactured by VDO. Car has been running all the way down to the low fuel light with no issues for the past 2 months.
Pros: no issues for 2 months, runs down to low fuel light

I am unsure of the Fuel Pump brand but i know it is aftermarket not VDO

I installed new fuel pumps this past Wed (quattro has 2), and the car fired up after a little cranking (I assume repriming the lines). Car worked fine yesterday, but on the way to work this morning it died and I got a tow.
Pros: car fired up after install

I purchased a fuel pump. It was identical to the stock VDO pump and it has worked well since installation.
