I did my very first control arm change a few weeks ago, £80 parts (Febi) and about 6 hours labour to do both sides.

I used the FEBI chain and it's been solid and a good value compared to the overpriced vag chain. No problems on my A5 for thousands of miles.
I’ve never bothered spending money on fancy disks, they are literally just metal disks being ground down. Other than the alloy strength you aren't paying for anything other than brand name. I run the cheapest "branded" disks I can find on eBay and have had no issues. A pair of febi disks is like £50
I use febi or glysantil brands, haven't noticed any difference between cars.
I bought a new FEBI expansion tank without the silica bag. I just found out i shouldve used G12 evo instead and G13 is a disaster on these cars.
both tie rods installed shows L , i replaced them like 6 month back..with FEBI tie rods.
Got a new Febi one that is verified vacuum controlled, only to take it out the box to have it hold 0 vacuum at all! To add insult to injury they dared to put a “tested” sticker on the pump itself. Now I gotta return it, wait for a new one (or buy one at a markup) and pray its not defective either.
a febi one failed on me after only 20k km.
Could it be a faulty pressure relief valve in the new pump? It’s an aftermarket unit (Febi brand), and I suspect the bypass spring or piston might be stuck open or too weak.
After replacing the oil pump, the engine shows no oil pressure at all – even when cold. The warning light stays on from the moment I start the engine.
