Ended up paying the premium for a Motorcraft fuel pump and it seems to be working great over a year in. Honestly I think paying the premium is worth it in this case.

Looks identical to the one I pulled out of my 2010 when I was swapping it from electric to mechanical fuel pump for my 302 swap, and the price seems pretty accurate, and it's Motor craft brand, which is usually Ford parts
During Covid times, I ordered a Motorcraft pump off of Amazon. When it finally showed up after three weeks, it was in a plain unmarked box. I opened it up and it was a broken Delphi brand assembly. I returned and got a refund.
I cannot emphasize this enough, buy the motor craft pump. I put 3 aftermarket pumps in my ranger in 2 years. They all shit the bed, one on a road tripping 300 miles from home. They all had fuel senders that gave inaccurate readings as well. I wish I had spent the money up front.
298992 miles on factory fuel pump....
Never had a problem. OE pump still in it when I sold it.
When it comes to electrical components or accessories, it is well worth it to buy the OEM part, you can usually buy them from third parties, so you don't have to go to the dealer. Something like a fuel pump or alternator is not worth cheaping out on, do you really want to tear out your fuel tank(depending on vehicle) any more than necessary?
