I just used the vdo/continental pump. The plastic end on it makes it more prone to a leak, but hopefully by the point I do it again preventatively, there won't be a leak. Been 10k miles, no issues so far. Oil stays abiut 5ish degrees cooler with this new pump/t stat
I purchased my new pump from FCPEuro - highly recommend them - it was "aftermarket" but was the same brand (VDO, a division of Continental) as the original, and was reasonably priced at a little over $200.
I've had really good luck with VDO. Do not get Vemo. You will be doing that often.
I am unsure of the Fuel Pump brand but i know it is aftermarket not VDO
I installed new fuel pumps this past Wed (quattro has 2), and the car fired up after a little cranking (I assume repriming the lines). Car worked fine yesterday, but on the way to work this morning it died and I got a tow.
Only the first one failed to pump, the others spring a leak in the housing.
New fuel pump + gasket, VDO $345 + $17 July 2022 (Stuck now)
I've had really good luck with VDO. Do not get Vemo. You will be doing that often.
I am about to do my THIRD water pump replacement on our '08 535xi. I replaced it in 2016, again in 2018, and it is now leaking again. I will get it out today and verify but the leaks have all been along a casting seam in the plastic impeller cover. These have all been factory VDO/Continental OEM pumps. Something is wrong here but it sure stumps me. If I buy another I will get it from FCPeuro because of their warranty but I sure hate doing this job.
