Just tires, brakes, fluids, filters, TPMS sensors, water pump and a thermostat. If you couldnt see the odometer youd swear it had 30k miles on it but it has 180k

It was the water pump went bad, it had leaked antifreeze all over the belt that runs it. The belt shredded and got tangled up in the other moving parts.
He found the water pump was leaking. It was replaced.
Only thing I have had to fix on it was the water pump. It started leaking at 181k miles.
im coming up on a turn and my wheel feels like its locked. i tried my hardest to turn and it wouldnt. look at my gauges and my temp gauge is almost at max, look behind me and theres a huge cloud of smoke, my water pump blew.
I had a crack in my water pump and my car was leaking coolant slowly and then one day very quickly lol.
In that 123k miles I've only had to replace the water pump (just started making noise last week, never leaked and never stranded me) and the power steering pump (developed a small leak at 200k).
Having the same exact issue with the same exact SBC 350 '76 corvette. I just replaced the water pump, so the pump is brand new, and new gaskets. Every time it revs to 6000 rpm and the engine gets up to temperature the water pump gasket blows and begins to leak from the bottom and spills coolant everywhere.
wraithkl626 wins this one; it appears that it was la bomba de agua . Cookie called me a few weeks ago and told me it was making the noise pretty consistently now. I went out and redid the belt-on/belt-off check, and the result was definitive that it was a belt-drive accessory problem. Based on the nature of the noise and what else had already been replaced, I felt that it had to be the water pump. I put the new one in today, and so far, so good.
