Reviews of OEM Porsche windshield

I replaced a windshield on a 981 cayman on a windshield insurance claim. The cost was nothing.

The arguments I used were that the oem glass has a ‘P’ (for Porsche) logo above the glass company’s logo, and that buyers check for that. I also said that I had read that non-oem glass can void the rain sensor warranty.

This exact situation happened to me. I assumed it was due to the outside temperature. Quite disappointing for a luxury brand.

Porsche just replaced my windshield based on the melting seal issue they had for some years. Mine is a 2022. New windshield, sensor calibration and seal look and work perfect.

While driving back from cars and coffee two weeks ago, I got hit with a projectile and it cracked the windshield. Good as new

I actually had this happen to a customer with a 911. Safelite came to do the windshield with OEM Porsche glass ordered from us and everything went fine. Customer picks it up and drives it home but comes back next morning. Sure enough, there is a big wave in the glass right about eye level.
