Idemitsu is my go-to brand for OEM spec fluids. Rumor has it, they make a lot of the OEM stuff. Great stuff regardless. Been using them in place of Honda branded products for decades without any issues.
Owner reviews for power steering fluid
Been running fram Honda ps for years. I use to use strictly Honda, that little jug is 12 at the dealership now. Fram is half the price.
Lastly, have power steering fluid flushed.
Consider drain and refill power steering fluid too. Also cabin air filter replacement.
LUCAS power steering fluid is great. The spray on wax is magic. After it sits a week, it seems even better. Aluminum too. The gear oil is great.
I have seen enough howling/leaking power steering pumps that I would only use Honda brand fluid.
As others have said, keep up on maintenance. But be aware that the Audi maintenance schedule has several fluids that they consider lifetime (eg never change) that do need to be changed. These include the transmission, differentials, transfer case and power steering fluids.
Probably transmission fluid for power steering. ATF is actually what you're supposed to use anyway on many cars. Even if you're supposed to use a specific power steering fluid, ATF works just fine.
I think it’s great as power steering fluid but I wouldn’t use it in place of my Toyota type IV fluid for my transmission
I put in Valvaline power steering fluid in the system this weekend, because I have a small leak and nobody carried the OEM stuff on Sunday. Could this be my issue? Do you think the viscosity is causing my power steering pump to make the noise.
