Any major brand will do - Howe’s, Power Service, Hot Shots … I always used Power Service because it has the Cummins logo on it.

I like Power Service for an additive when I have more #2 in the tank and it's gonna get cold.
Used power service for 15yrs off/on. It’s the only additive that actually made a mildly noticeable improvement in the 5.9 injector Noise and slight smoke increase.
Power service white bottle about 4oz every fill up. Have 2k on the car no problems yet, will switch to grey bottle in a bit.
If you're not using a fuel additive like Power Service or Stanadyne then go get some now. There is no way you can survive the winter without it, regardless of what VW says...or doesn't say on this point. Your fuel is gelling on you, there's no question about it.
My dad and I use PowerService DieselKleen. It adds up to 6 cetane points depending on concentration. It's also ideal for filling up your fuel filter when you change it. It's in the grey bottle. They also sell an additive in a white bottle called Diesel Fuel Supplement which is an anti-gel additive and cetane booster, but it only boosts up to 3 points. They also have Diesel 9-1-1 which is an emergency additive to de-gel fuel. A good thing to carry during the winter.
