I have a few really old Craftsman wrenches exactly like you have. I checked them against a torque sensor on a machine at work and they were quite good even though at least one looked like crap.

I have the 1/2 version of the Craftsman its basically now permanently stuck at around 100 ft lbs because i can not adjust the torque on it accurately anymore.
Locking down my 1 tons lug nuts this morning with the Craftsman Professional 1/2" torque wrench, 130 lbs, then BOOM.
I have a craftsman and it has never done me wrong. Not to mention lifetime since Lowes own craftsman now. It's a simple walk in and swap type thing. Mine is 1/2 drive and goes up to 350 lbs I do believe.
I bought a cheap one from the auto parts store... I then compared the TQ setting with a snap on one a buddy had. They were the same. This one will work... I have one.
