I have a 130i with 218k miles. I\u2019ve had the car for maybe 5 months. Spent probably around \u00a31,500 in that time period. It was mostly expected. The big costs were new oil pan, which was probably around \u00a3800 with labour.

Pros: mostly expected

The oil pan hung down low under the car and was prone to being struck by large objects and disintegrating upon impact.

Cons: prone to impact, disintegrates
