ive been using them in my old 4runner for a couple years now and have yet to have one fail. Think they have like 20k miles on them or something like that. Truck runs great.
I went from sub 0.030" spark gaps to the stock above 0.040" spark gaps without getting spark blowout for 4 years now.
I replaced the OEM coil with an MSD ignition coil earlier this year after having similar misfiring issues. Haven’t had any issues since.
One additional benefit is that the Duralast Coils have a free replacement for life. FWIW I put about 4 coils on my old 2007 and never had one fail over the course of 5 years and ~50k miles.
I went to Autozone and purchased a set of Duralast Ignition coils for $300, swapped all 4 and the car idled as good as new. I don't know if the Duralast coils will last very long, but they do have a no questions asked lifetime warranty so I can just get them replaced everytime it goes out.
Couple years ago I put a full pack of MSD coils on it, and they ran amazing right off the bat, and great for about 3 years before I had a coil fail on me while I was camping.
Autozone duralast, cheap and get the job done. Coils are coils and don’t really affect any performance
Duralast coils are known to be problematic
Soooo many burnt up MSD ignition coils. We tried our best.
