The battery in my MB was the original Bosch so 20 years old when I replaced it.
(for general reference Lion are one of the worst battery brands out there. Exide are OK but that's far too expensive. Bosch and Varta are generally the exact same product with different stickers on and are always good, and rarely all that expensive.
I will second a class 3 Bosch. I have one in a hilly city that absolutely rocks the steeps and has a great battery life. Going on 2 years strong and I've had zero battery issues. It rains a lot here but no problems with the Shimano drivetrain either, just regular maintenance.
I have a Cube Stereo Hybrid pro (insert numbers here)
Priced about 3.5k retail, it's an absolute dream to ride. Quiet, huge battery (bosch power tube 800)
Why on earth would you pay $600 for battery + terminal. I bought recently a BOSCH AGM for $235 and installed it for free by myself after watching a tutorial on youtube.
The Bosch has slightly lower Cold Cranking Amps at 330 vs the Yuasa at 360. Also Bosch has 4 yr warranty vs Yuasa 5yr.
I have used Bosch, Panasonic, and now Amaron in my 2013 WK2. Bosch lasted as much as my previous 2 Mopar lasted.
I drive a 15 year old gas powered Audi Q7. Still runs like new. My issue with EVs is you can't just keep them tuned up when they're old. No matter how good of care you take of it, the battery will decay and lose capacity.
I went to a Škoda dealer to look at a car to buy. The car was a Rapid 1.4 SE DSG which was advertised at £8995. The car was stored remotely from the dealer, basically in a field. The battery was completely flat.
Spouse has a 2021 etron, (some issues, inc battery recall), I had a 2022 etron with many issues which prompted my change to a 2025 SQ6. I’ve written to Audi Canada so many times regarding the etron issues with no resolution on any of them. I like the SQ6 but this will be my last Audi - worst experience I’ve ever had with any vehicle and manufacturer.
