OEM Toyota EGR valve

Have been chipping away at replacing the HG for several days now... The last couple days was finally able to get to the EGR system... I took some pictures of my EGR valve and cooler. The last four pics show the cooler and valve. You literally can barely see light through the cooler, it is that clogged. Very likely contributed to this issue.

Pros: clogged EGR cooler
Cons: difficult EGR removal
Vehicle: Toyota Prius

Then had another e91; 325d this time. Bought with 30k, sold with 81k. Sold because it started costing me money (EGR valve, DPF issues). Most issues were from having a 3l diesel around town, didn\u2019t do enough longer distance miles in it. Standard diesel things, but 50k from a diesel with relatively minor and expected issues isn\u2019t too bad imo.

Pros: relatively minor issues
Cons: EGR valve, DPF issues
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 30000 km

I have 2013 Prius with revised piston rings under 87k. The vehicle was cleaned recently at the dealership/ stealership with replacement of EGR valve under 500k miles first time. It costs me almost $1200- big mistake.

Pros: replacement of EGR valve
Cons: big mistake, expensive
Vehicle: Toyota Prius
Mileage: 87000 km

Cons: failed once
