Got time to install my replacement clockspring and my 2012 vw beetle sterling wheel setup. It gives me the shape of a mk7 wheel, while still having the mk6 button layout. Everything works apart from clearing airbag light that been there for a year.

I had a steering control module fault on my sportwagen with that same "cruise control" fault. My cruise control would intermittently turn off on long drives on the freeway and you couldn't turn it back on without key cycling the car, very annoying. I took it in and they replaced the clock spring. Faults are gone, no more cruise control issues.
This happened to my Fusion 2016 as well and I ended up having to replace the Clock spring due to it being damaged.
2010 Wrangler Rubicon. The clock spring in the steering wheel went out. Moisture had gotten in, so it needed replacing. Several hundred dollars later I was good to go. A month after that Jeep put out a recall on the clock springs for moisture and offered free replacement. My dealer and I both contacted Jeep to try and get a refund, but they refused.
I changed clock spring a few days ago, before i changed, my airbag was on, the horn was not working but there was no issue with ESP. After i changed clock spring, Horn starts to work, but Airbag light still on and ESP light on now. I changed the fuses, but still the same.
my last one needed a clock spring replacement which was f’n expensive and left a slightly sour taste on the supposed “bulletproof” reputation.
