The OEM is great, if you can afford it or your insurance company will pay for it. There is a bit of Sekurit product out there...You can be comfortable with Sekurit, as they are one of VW OEM suppliers.

Sekurit is OEM replacement. I just got a new windshield in my Jetta made by them.
Ok this is what's on my windshield. // SEKURIT saint gobain E2 43r-001126 dot 27m75 as1 ^ 3. ^ tinted ^ is a triangle. Hope that helps you out.
Mine is \"Sekurit\" as well, and it's got \"Saint Gobain\" in smaller typeset under that. The rear window is the same on mine.
I am happy with my new Sekurit windshield, this replacement is my second in 4 months.
If your GTI is Mexico built(like mine), it probably has Groupe Vitro glass, as opposed to the Sekurit Saint-Gobain glass in the German built. Sekurit is a far superior product. Since day one, I have had waves in my factory Vitro windshield. I'll replace it soon. Hopefully, with a Sekurit.
All I can say is get quality glass, I went with Sekurit, and even if you WATCH THEM install it they can still F&*K it up because after I went thru this ordeal, I had to take the car back to another guy to fix the leak that was coming from the NEW windshield!!!
