Wedged the GTI's radiator in. I was pretty worried about the Nissen OE equivalent I bought on FCP euro being enough for the VR6.

i am dealing with radiator business in Turkey, and all i can say is Nissens is good brand. And fins will be okay, i cant see any major damage, but need to make sure check for the leak.

That’s exactly where my OEM radiator started leaking, luckily it was very visible, I strongly recommend changing the radiator, I got Nissens and it’s been working great so far it came highly recommended by my mechanic

I put a nissens radiator off Amazon in mine 3 years and 80,000 kilometers ago and its held up. Multiple cross country trips with it.

I replaced the clutch with an OEM Valeo, converted it to a single mass flywheel with a complete kit, serviced the supercharger, installed a new radiator support (the original was damaged in one corner), a new Mishimoto radiator with a silicone hose kit, a new thermostat, water pump, new OEM BMW oil pan, gasket and bolts, new engine mounts, a new Racing Dynamics intercooler, a new OEM water pump with its filter, a new aluminum Canton Racing expansion tank, a new 15% supercharger pulley and a new Craven belt, new NGK spark plugs, a new Nissen A/C condenser, semi slicks racing tires, new Rotors and Pads Carbon ceramic on the 4 wheels, and inside I replaced the cloth seats with heated English Lounge Leather seats that I got and restored with a friend from a crashed 2005 S.

Nissen OEM style replacement is good

I too have a 12 Jetta GLI, and bought a Nissens Heater Core from rock auto and was unable to close metal clips onto the new heater core. I had no trouble closing it with the original heater core.

Nissens is ok

The ~2014 Nissens, with the 15 round tube design just doesn't cut it. From what I can tell the car would've come with the 30 flat tube design. The Nissens just doesn't have enough surface area. On a hot day, with the AC going and highway speeds it just couldn't keep up.

my car's radiator is $200 for an underperforming Nissens radiator.
