Even though the Meyle HD ones can be replaced, I think Meyle just recommends one replacement. The aluminum that the ball joints are pressed into is considered a sacrificial metal, so the installation process kinda hoses the control arm and, in general, is considered a one-time install.
Now out of all options out there, I jave settled with Meyle HD. 20k km later still ok. NVH is indeed slightly higher compared to new malaysia lemförder but really minimal.
I had issues with the bottom nuts on the ball joints. Meyle joints. They came loose, I got oem nuts instead of what they came with and alignment been good.
I had the Meyles pressed in to the Lemforder arms and competed for the next 2 and a bit seasons without issue
what brand ball joint? if you say meyle you need to run pecker first into a revolving door everything is schitt now. all of it.
From Scott at USRT: We've hit a bump in the R&D road. The latest update is that the Meyle-brand ball joints are no longer made in Germany according to T\u00dcV standards. Nope, they're now sourced from China and the metallurgy SUCKS.
I just redid the front suspension on my GTI and used Meyle ball joints. The quality, fit, and feel is excellent.
meyle products are so-so quality, but their ball joints are the bottom of the trash pile. I've learned my lessons the hard way by using meyle components on my e30 BMW's. The parts are just poorly made pieces of poo.
