I noticed similar results with kyb excel g on my sienna.
I bought a pair of front struts with the spring assembly , I thought I was getting the top shelf units KYB , put them on and they rattle called they said that it was normal , nope I don't think so
Shocks, struts, and strut parts: I always recommend the premium option for suspension parts. The system actually says that subtly. Typically that's the KYB brand.
The front I also got KYB struts. No issues with fitment but I needed to rent an extra set of spring compressors as the front coils were thicker more difficult to compress.
I've used kyb complete struts on several cars and they have always been good.
KYB good stuff. Put all 4 on my 97 golf 6 yrs perfect.
I no longer use any quick struts. The ride sucks and they just don't last.
My kyb quick struts on my sienna lasted about 7 months. One leaked, the other top bearing plate failed.
KYB is OE on a Toyota. I have used these on several cars without an issue. They might be a little stiff at first.
Looking at good quality replacement parts and non dealer labor ($150/hr), you can fix it for 6k. Sway bar links, shock absorber, control arm: $900 in parts (OEM struts, Mevotech Control Arms) + $150 alignment + 5-7 hours of labor.
