Reviews of CAT fuel filter

Swap the factory housing for a CAT spin on and they're super cheap. You don't want dirty fuel going through your fuel system, I'd rather spend extra on filters.

Fuel filter I do every oil change but swapped to the CAT filter. It’s cheaper, filters better, and would last longer.

I opted to go with a Black Market Performance fuel filter kit. With this kit, I now use a CAT 1R-0750 filter which costs about $30 IIRC and can be bought from any truck shop in the country. As other commenters have said - the fuel filter(s) and system is not a place to cheap out given the cost of replacing a diesel engine and given the general "gunky" nature of diesel fuel, in general. Besides completely replacing the front fuel filter itself with a filter that is easier to obtain, it filters down to something crazy low. I don't recall the exact micron level but I know it was markedly improved over factory.

CAT fuel filter upgrade on a Duramax is a no brainer!
