04 Audi A8 with the 4.2V8. gotta take the whole fuckin air box out the get to the oil filter. Air filter out, air box out with 6 screws that are hard to reach, intake tube comes out, pull back some heat shield on the engine and there it is, sideways, above a bunch of other components so you can't get it out quick and clean without spilling oil on half the engine bay.

3500 ! For me that's less than twice a year tho. And always change the filter so I can inspect it for debris.
Yes, these are great on my Audi’s that also have a top mounted filter. It pays for itself in one oil change compared to dealership prices.
Oil and filter runs about $100 for my S5. I do the change myself with a fluid extractor so it's pretty much hands off.
I did 10k the last two times and was finding some metal in my filter so I’m going down to 5k.
We buy the filter from Audi for about $27 and then with the oil it's around a $50 job in total.
my folks' 2008 Audi A4 2.0T was great from new to when they sold it in 2019 with 120k miles on it. Only major repair was a failed oil filter housing seal which caused a moderate oil leak at about 105k miles.
There is a small oil filter in the cam shafts bracket. That fails, I read somewhere Audi issued a recall to replace them, but VW didn't, even though the part is the same and same likelihood to fail no matter the brand of the card.
