can consider a parf volvo with 2-3 years left, i bought a nearly 9 years old 2016 volvo s60 t5, drove 45k km in 10 months, drove to krabi thailand, total spent $2000+ on maintenance for the 45k km i used (mostly wear and tear stuff, things like brake pads, tyres, wipers that jap cars also have to change). honestly damn good car for the price i paid (10.8k depre). 241hp stock, pretty reliable for a conti, and super quiet and comfortable.
Best Brake pads for Volvo S60
I just put Brembos on my s60 and they are great.
Akebono Euro Ceramics all around and they're fantastic.
I'd also replace the brake pads with ceramic (same/less cost than OEM) as they stop better and shed very little brake dust unlike the OEM Volvo units.
I have 2005 S60 Turbo as a daily. Bought it brand new in 2005 and she now has 157,000 trouble-free miles. However, being a European car, replacement items can be pretty expensive. I've replaced: brakes and rotors ($1,200).
I currently have TRW NAO pads and zimmerman rotors all around on my S60, very dusty but bites harder than ceramic, especially when they are cold.
There is a lot of markup on those parts. A full set of TRW pads for an S60 can be had for a little over $200 inc GST from Repco and Repco ain't cheap.
My only problem with it is the turning radius. The brakes aren't what they should be IMO for triple digit speeds but it is rare I drove at such speed being located in the USA.
