Rating 4.5

General G-Max RS or Firestone Indy 500s are solid options aswell with good grip and way friendlier pricing. I ran Indy 500s on my old Camaro and they felt great in normal driving without being loud or sketchy in the rain.

Pros: good grip, friendlier pricing
Cons: not loud or sketchy

Rating 4.0

I ran nexen Sport R, they’re a tick off pace of the hot 200tw (RE71RS, CRSv2, A052) but they’re super consistent across a 30 minute lapping session and I was getting 5-6 days out of a set.

Pros: super consistent, long lasting
Cons: slightly slower

Cooper Tires

The Cooper Zeon are significantly better, especially in the rain. I don't generally *try* to roast my tires, but there's been many situations where these Zeon tires have held grip where the Extensa would undoubtedly let loose.

Pros: better, especially in rain

Goodyear Tires

I'm running the F1 Supercar 3 (not the R). If you're like me and just trying to have a little fun going around the turns, unconcerned about being passed by Miatas, go with the 3's.

Pros: good for fun driving
Cons: not for best lap times

Goodyear Tires

Supercar 3Rs were designed to go with the ZLE, when I drove them I would get onto the track at 29psi. A lap and a half ish I would hit 30psi and that’s when it was go time. After 36psi they’ll start to fall off but that was generally about the time a 20 minute session ended.

Pros: optimal performance at 30psi
Cons: performance drops after 36psi

YOKOHAMA Tires

The main thing I didn't like about the A052 is the soft sidewall and overall life. I think it's probably the stickiest 200tw tire, better suited for lighter cars, but for my heavy ass Camaro I chewed through the a052 in half the time of RE71r, mostly because I was driving them wrong. I tend to push a little past the grip level from the front on corner entry, it wasn't too big and issue with the RE71r with the stiff sidewall and stiffer compound, but driving like that with the a052 which feels incredibly soft and gummy, I shredded through the shoulders of the tread quick, even with -3.3 front camber.

Pros: stickiest 200tw tire
Cons: soft sidewall, overall life
