Then pair them with some Bilstein B4 struts. I have the B4s on my 2008 SE 2.5 and they're fantastic, especially for the price.
Best Strut assembly for Volkswagen Jetta
Had an 85' Jetta GLI: installed lowering springs (1/5" front, 1" rear, 40% stiffer? Hor brand? Pretty sure I picked them up from Autotech) and used HD standard struts (coilovers were not available and pretty sure I used Sach's struts).
I also replaced the front and rear struts. Man, what a difference that made in the ride and handling department.
I don't trust brands like Monroe or Duralast, so I was going to order some Bilstein B4s ($65.00 each) and re-use my old springs.
I like the bilstein touring struts. They are a great value for a slightly sportier than stock strut.
Bilstein HD struts with VR6 springs to raise the ride height.
Pep Boys made good on their previous hack. This is a prime example of why it is SO important to say you need parts for a 1998 MKIII when you have a 1999 MKIII made the first half of the conversion year.
If these are the last struts/shocks you want to install, go with the HDs. No loss of shock performance on any of these vehicles. Bulletproof.
